THE Rotary Club of Frome Selwood invited representatives of Dorothy House Hospice and of SSAFA (a charity giving “lifelong support to our Forces and their families”) to join them for dinner and to receive cheques from Rotary president Terry Candy on Tuesday 26th November.
Each charity received a cheque for half of the £4,000 which had been raised at the club’s recent silent auction held at Orchardleigh Golf Club.
Terry commented, “We are delighted to be able to give each of these charities a cheque for £2,000. Our thanks go to those who donated the auction items, and also to those who bought them.”
Yvonne Brunton for Dorothy House and Pam Clark for SSAFA both expressed their thanks to the club and updated the members on the latest news about their organisations.
