Frome is set for a jam-packed September, with favourite annual events Frome Carnival and Frome Cheese Show back on the calendar, and the iconic Cobble Wobble making its long-awaited return.
The Frome Agricultural and Cheese Show returns on Saturday 13th September, featuring the prestigious Global Cheese Awards, adrenaline-fuelled stunt displays, livestock demonstrations, sheep herding, show jumping, live music and more.

The world-famous Cobble Wobble returns on Sunday 14th September, with cyclists of all ages and abilities set to tackle the challenging 179-yard sprint up Frome’s iconic Catherine Hill – many in fancy dress. Residents are expected to line the streets to cheer on the cyclists, who will be racing from 12pm.

The following weekend, on Saturday 20th September, the streets of Frome will be alive with music, colour, and light for the Frome Carnival, a beloved tradition dating back to 1929.
The Children’s Carnival kicks off at Victoria Park, with the procession leaving at 2.30pm, giving young participants the chance to parade through the town.

The evening procession begins at 6.45pm with a majorettes’ display, followed by the main procession at 7pm. Lit-up and decorative floats, along with groups and individuals in fancy dress, will travel from the Marston Trading Estate into the town centre for crowds lining the streets.
Mayor of Frome, Anita Collier, said: “There’s so much going on this September, including brilliant longstanding events like Frome Carnival and Frome Cheese Show, and the return of the Cobble Wobble. I won’t be cycling up Catherine Hill myself on 14th September, but I look forward to cheering everyone on!
“It’s Frome’s wonderful community spirit at its best!”
