Frome Symphony’s next concert takes place on Sunday 11th February in the Cheese and Grain at 7.30pm.
This will be the second in a series of concerts featuring the finest young classical soloists. The orchestra is joined by Iyad Sughayer for a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23. Born in 1993. Iyad has studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
He is now developing a successful career as a piano soloist, with regular concert engagements in the UK and abroad. The concert opens with Mozart’s well-known overture to his opera, “The Marriage of Figaro”. After the interval, the orchestra performs the first symphony by Sibelius, replete with the luxurious harmonies, colourful timbres and moving melodies for which the composer is so well known.
Tickets are available for £12 (adult) and £5 (child) from the Cheese and Grain box office on 01373 455420, and online.
