A TEAM from Affinity Wellbeing in Frome has recently returned from taking part in Tribal Clash 2017, Europe’s largest and most savage outdoor team fitness competition.
The team, Crossfit UVA, competed head to head with some of the world’s best athletes in a fusion of crossfit, strongman and obstacle course racing. After the first four events and at the end of day one of the weekend-long competition, Crossfit UVA found themselves in 40th place (out of a total of 160 teams.) The team were thrilled with this result, but sadly after the fifth event on day two, adverse weather conditions which led to injury meant the team were forced to withdraw from the remainder of the competition.
Despite only competing in five of the six Tribal Clash events, Crossfit UVA ranked 71st at the end of the gruelling weekend, equalling their 2016 position. Paul Roffey from Affinity Wellbeing said, “To have matched last year’s position, when we completed all six events, is fantastic. It shows how much we have developed and grown as a team and a CrossFit Box over the last 12 months. We’re excited to see what we can achieve this time next year when we aim to compete at Tribal Clash again!”
