After the lengthy Christmas break Frome Town Ladies FC returned to action on Sunday 11th January when they entertained Mangotsfield Ladies in a friendly.
Frome used the game to give some of their younger players the opportunity to gain valuable experience by playing alongside some of the clubs more established stars.
The likes of Samantha Eley, Zoe Porch, Charley Ratcliffe, Keira-Leigh Underhill and Tiegan Marsh all performed admirably as the home side ran out impressive 4-0 winners.
Frome also fielded a young trialist in the centre of midfield and she was another who made the most of her chance and was responsible for the opening goal after 10 minutes when her defence splitting through ball was raced onto by top scorer Becky Yeo and she finished neatly.
Yeo doubled the lead shortly after and Frome had total control for the remainder of the half playing some beautiful passing football despite a difficult pitch and strong wind in their faces.
The second half continued in much the same vein with both Ratcliffe and Marsh particularly impressing.
Two more goals followed, Yeo with her hat trick and Kim Cheffey with a stunning volley from the edge of the penalty box.
All in all a great warm up game for Frome and congratulations to Mangotsfield who proved good opposition.
