AFTER a home defeat and an away win, Frome Cricket Club currently sit in second place in the West of England Premier Cricket League – Somerset.
The club trail 14 points behind league leaders North Perrott Cricket Club, who beat them at home last month on Saturday 21st July.
On the day of the match, Frome won the toss and elected to bat first. Frome’s top batsman was Reece Croker, who racked up a total of 107 runs before being caught out by North Perrott’s Jack Henderson.
They reached 293 for 9 (50 overs) but couldn’t prevent North Perrott reaching 297 for 6 in 49.4 overs.
North Perrott CC won the match by 4 wickets.
On Saturday 28th July, Frome played away to Bridgwater CC 2nd XI.
Frome won the toss and elected to field, quickly taking control of the match bringing Bridgwater’s innings to a quick conclusion with everyone out for 150.
After the break, Frome’s wasted no time to win the match, with Robin Lett the top scorer for the club with 74 runs.
Frome won the match by 7 wickets. Final score: Bridgwater 150 all out (44.1 overs), Frome 153 for 3 (25 overs).
