Local trampolinist Izzie Hunt has been crowned English Champion for double mini trampolining and continued to shine on the international stage, winning bronze for Team GB in Portugal.
Izzie, who is currently in Year 10 at Frome College, has been competing at national level in double mini trampolining since 2021. The sport is a gymnastics discipline within trampolining where participants perform acrobatic skills on an apparatus smaller than a regular competition trampoline.
Last month, she was crowned English Champion winning the gold medal in the female 13 to 14 age category for double mini trampolining at the National Championships, held at Telford International Centre.
Building on this victory, Izzie went on to win a bronze medal with Team GB Gymnastics at the prestigious 17th Loulé Cup in Portugal during the autumn half term.
The event saw 71 senior, junior, and youth gymnasts from Great Britain competing. Izzie said, “Competing for my country is a dream come true and something that I really enjoy doing and to have a medal as well is just an amazing experience.”
Izzie is a member of Frome’s Evolution Trampoline Club.
