A LONG-standing vet at Bellevue Veterinary Clinic, Dr Cordelia Charles, has achieved a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) and passed the final examination in Equine Stud Medicine, after studying for three years with The University of Liverpool.
The course involved completing six modules each requiring 100 hours of study, submitting case reports, completing assessment questions and attending journal clubs, all on top of working full time.
“Cordelia has gained experience with equine stud medicine beginning her career in New Zealand where she lived on a large stud farm with 300 broodmares,” says the clinic. “Then she worked for a season in Newmarket and during Covid travelling to Australia to gain skills in advanced techniques such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
“Senior veterinary surgeon David Francis, has ensured that Bellevue Veterinary Clinic has been a BEVA approved veterinary clinic for artificial insemination for many years.”
Cordelia said, “I would like to thank my dad David, for encouraging me to continue my studies and inspiring me through his incredible work ethic.”
