FROME Walkers are looking for new members to join their group.
The group says, “Frome Walkers originated as the Frome Rights of Way in 1974. It was a thriving group for many years, being renamed as Frome Walkers a few years ago. However, numbers have fallen of late and the group is looking for new life and enthusiasm to drive it forward post Covid.
“If you enjoy the delights of walking in the countryside and are interested in possibly finding paths you haven’t walked before, then maybe think about giving us a try.
“We walk on the second Sunday of each month and do a circular walk of about 5 to 6 miles, usually from the local villages.
“Walkers can meet in Frome by 1.30pm to car share to the start point or meet at the start point by 1.45pm.
“We did a lovely walk in September. It took us from Vallis Vale, along the river to Great Elm and back via Buckland Dinham.
“Our October walk will start from Nunney Quarry car park, about 5 miles. We will walk along Nunney Brook, back across the fields then out towards Nunney Catch, returning to cross the Brook to reach Horn Street.”
