A collection of plays written by Frome Writers’ Collective will be performed at Merlin Theatre.
‘Balancing Acts’ explores the dilemmas faced in family relationships and the unexpected events triggered by chance encounters, past and present.
Created by Frome Writers’ Collective’s scriptwriting group, the show will run on 14th March.
Eight members of the group are busy rehearsing their plays with local actors and Merlin Director Claudia Pepler.
Scenarios range from a confrontation between two of the women in the life of Charles Dickens (pictured) to present-day marital issues, and the plight of a Sri Lankan child whose mother, driven by financial necessity, is forced to work far from home.
The scriptwriting group’s co-ordinator, Sian Williams, believes these touching, poignant and sometimes funny stories will resonate with people everywhere and described the production as ‘a wonderful opportunity to see work by talented local writers.’
‘Balancing Acts’ is at Merlin Theatre on Saturday 14th March at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5. Visit the website https://merlintheatre.co.uk or ring the box office on 01373 465949.
