With just a few weeks to go until their annual free spring concert, the young singers in Frome Youth Choir are busy learning lots of new songs, all with an upbeat theme.
The free concert is on Saturday 30th March in Christ Church, Frome, at 3pm, and is guaranteed to get everyone feeling like spring has finally sprung.
The concert will feature a great selection of groovy tunes, including:
‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing’ (Stevie Wonder)
‘With a Little Help from My Friends’ (The Beatles)
‘Earth, Sea and Sky’ (Lin Marsh)
‘El Cumbanchero’ (Rafael Hernandez arranged by Kevin Stannard)
‘Feelin’ Groovy’ (Simon and Garfunkel)
The choir, which is for young people from Frome and surrounding areas aged 6-14 years, is run by musical director Steph Collishaw, who has been a music teacher for over 23 years.
She said, “Our young singers have been working really hard this term to learn lots of fun, new songs, so please come along to show them your support and join us for refreshments after.
“Any parents or carers wanting to find out more about the choir can contact me at youthchoirfrome @gmail.com or via our Facebook page www.facebook.com/ FromeYouth Choir.”
