FROME’S country market can be found every Thursday from 8am-12pm at the Cheese and Grain.
Country Markets are a non-profit making cooperative, a group of people who come together to showcase their skills and talents with producers priding themselves on the quality of their work. They all work for the benefit of the local people, to provide a friendly, popular meeting place and a way for consumers to reconnect to the land with access to fresh, healthy and, above all, delicious local food.
For more than 50 years, Frome Country Market has served the town of Frome and its surrounding villages. It began life in a small wooden hut where the library now stands, and then expanded to the current location at the Cheese & Grain.
Organisers say, “We have always embodied the belief that local people deserve a chance to buy unique products, locally sourced, locally produced and locally created and to give back to their community.
“Frome’s market is unique in the way that everything is made or produced locally from beautifully, home-grown flowers and plants to local honey and eggs, fresh, home-cooked foods that can cater for all customers dietary need,s to the hand crafted gifts created by talented crafts people.”
