ARTWORK created during lockdown by Frome local, Dave Mosley, has been given its own exhibition at the Trowbridge Town Hall.
The exhibition is Dave’s first, and was organised as a surprise by his daughter Meg Mosley, who was the inspiration behind his lockdown art project.
Meg told Frome Times, “He’s been rather a quarantine creative king! Ever since lockdown happened, my dad went into full shielding as he had only recently recovered from a stroke. I wanted a way to stay connected with dad and overcome the separation and enjoy our creativity and friendship.
“I devised a project for us right away. I sent dad a set of blank postcards and asked him to draw, doodle or collage any of his thoughts during lockdown.
“Dad sent me his drawings, I then sourced poetry that felt aligned with his creative musings, I photographed his work, turned them into a digital postcards with the poetry included and sent them back to him.
“‘Wish You Were Here’ is the name of this work as it’s a saying symbolic of messages loved ones write on postcards when separated by distance.
“In the gallery dad’s postcards span the distance of 2 metres, the original government guidelines imposed for social distancing.”
Dave’s exhibition at Trowbridge Town Hall runs until the end of August. The exhibition has been curated by Jen Hamblin of Court Street Gallery, Trowbridge.
