THE Extra Life Gaming Bar, which was due to close, has now been saved. Frome Town Football Club has stepped in to transform a derelict storage unit, to allow space for gamers to come together.
Extra Life Video Game Bar, at 46 Vallis Way, was opened by Donald Gwilyn in 2016. Donald, who has lived in Frome all his life, has turned his dream into a reality, giving gamers the chance to have a space to join like-minded people in their favourite games.
However, it was announced that the bar would be closed from 17th July, leaving the local gaming community with no-where to play. Frome Town Football Club came to the rescue with a suggestion to transform their derelict storage area, adjacent to the club’s tea hut and shop, into a space the gamers can use.
It was important to Donald that the Yugioh trading card game, and Dungeons and Dragons board game communities continued to carry on, as they were an important aspect to his bar.
The storage area has now been made into an ideal venue for the gamers, and also provides an area for local meetings and other community groups to come together.
If you are interested in booking the room for meetings, contact Gary at Frome Town FC on 01373 464087. For Yugioh-related queries contact Yugioh duelist Shane Lacey at shanelacey92@gmail.com or for any Dungeons and Dragons or board game questions contact Donald at extralifevgb@outlook.com
