“Seasoned NGS garden openers, this garden is designed and planted by Simon Relph. The garden is open to celebrate his life. Architectural design is of metal arches and geometrical raised beds surrounding a raised pond. There are many sculptured features by their son, Alex Relph, and other artists. Carefully chosen shrubs surround the walled garden. Fern area, roses and camellias surround the central courtyard. There are also raised vegetable beds, greenhouse and soft fruits. The garden has been featured in Wiltshire Garden Trust, regional press and radio.
“Wheelchair access. Paved paths, 3 small steps.
“The garden opening times for 84 Weymouth Road are from 1pm to 4pm.
“Admission for all adults is combined with entry to 9 Catherston Close £6, children under 16 free entry, no other concessions.”
Church Farm House, Turners Court Lane, Binegar, nr Wells BA3 4UA will also be open on Sunday 10th June from 11am to 4.30pm.
Wrapped around an old farmhouse are two walled gardens planted in a contemporary cottage style, with roses and clematis on garden walls and unusual perennials in deep borders which gives interest in all seasons. The south garden has a progressive colourist design. The ever-expanding insect-friendly planting in the gravel of the old farmyard creates an interesting display of form and colour, often with self-seeded surprises!. This is a very good example of a cottage garden using unusual as well as traditional plants.
The garden was featured in Mendip Times, and local press and radio. Plants for sale.
Drop off at house, for those with mobility restrictions, on gravel forecourt, 2 shallow steps within the garden. Admission for all adults is £4, under 16 year olds entry is free.
