IT’S that time of year again when businesses and community groups start to think about which charity to support in the New Year.
Charity of the Year support is very important to Positive Action on Cancer and in 2012 the charity was supported by Sainsbury’s Frome, Frome Triathlon Club, Mendip District Council, The Original Factory Shop (Frome) and was one of three Frome Mayoral Charities.
PAC are now offering a minimum of 56 counselling sessions every week and it costs the charity around £3000 per week to run the vital counselling service.
PAC fundraiser Kelly Hall said, “We rely entirely upon voluntary donations and therefore Charity of the Year support from local clubs and businesses is very important to us. We are urging our supporters to nominate us to their clubs/groups and to their employers. We very much enjoy working with our Charity of the Year supporters and look forward to working with some new clubs and businesses in 2013.”
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer free professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts. If you would like further information about counselling, the work of the charity or fundraising please contact Karen Dufton, administrator at PAC on 01373 455255 or info@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk.
