Free technology support sessions in Frome are now part of a newly formed charity called ‘Include Us In.’
The free IT support sessions run on a Monday and Wednesday morning at the Cheese and Grain, helping people who struggle with IT or need assistance in accessing the online world.
The group, which was started by Frome Community Education over 10 years ago, say that with a new charitable status, they hope it will help in their bids to raise funds.
Manager of the sessions Richard Ackroyd said, “The staff of volunteers who run the sessions are still the same. Our customers won’t see a change and the sessions remain free.”
Activities in the sessions range from job search support to setting up an email address and are handled by four volunteers with a variety of skills. No prior booking is required for the sessions that run from 10am to 12pm.
Frome’s Mayor Anita Collier recently popped into one of the sessions and said it was a ‘hidden gem’ in Frome. “It is part of what makes Frome so special. Not only does Frome Community Education run affordable courses for all; they started this much-needed service. They are absolutely brilliant.”
