FROME Music School will be offering half-term workshops for children and adults in the town.
The workshops will run on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th February from 11am. Both days will begin with group workshops; a ‘Starting Out’ session for 5-6 year olds from 11am-12.15pm, followed by ‘Next Steps’ for 7-9 year olds from 2-2.30pm.
Monday will then have a percussion workshop for 10-13 year olds from 4-4.30pm, followed by ‘Somerset Songbook’ for adults from 7-8.30pm.
Tuesday afternoon will consist of the ‘Somerset Songbook’ session for ages 10+, from 4-4.30pm.
All children’s sessions will explore rhythm, co-ordination, playing simple instruments, singing and creating music together as a small group for fun.
The Somerset Songbook sessions will appeal to anyone interested in learning some of the songs collected in the 1900s by Cecil Sharp. Instruments can be brought and all must be prepared to sing!
