THE Household Support Fund is a pot of money held by Somerset Council to help with cost-of-living expenses for people struggling in the current economic climate.
It is available to anyone who meets the application criteria and offers financial support to purchase, amongst other things, food, gas and electricity and essential household items.
As part of their commitment to supporting local families and individuals, The Pod Charity is rolling out a programme of community sessions to give support and guidance on the Household Support Fund and help people in the local community apply.
“We will be visiting various local groups, clubs and societies until the end of March to facilitate applications by signposting the procedure,” says charity manager, Sue Paxton.
Representatives from the Pod Charity, Nicki and Jonathan, will also be offering practical help by assisting with step-by-step applications. If you would like them to visit your organisation or to find out more, please contact Nicki on 07592 501022 or email: nicki@thepodcharity.org.uk.
The Pod is a Frome based charity that provides social and enterprising opportunities for people with additional needs, young carers and their families. For more information visit www.thepodcharity.org.uk
