THIS year’s Frome Carnival will be held on Saturday 22nd September – but there’s plenty of Carnival fun coming up before the big processions, including the annual Carnival Fun Day on Saturday 30th June.
• The judging for the Children’s Queen and Carnival Gran will take place on Saturday 23rd June, 1.30pm for 2.00pm, at Frome Community College (G Block Hall).
• The judging for the Carnival Queen, Miss Teenager, and the attendant will take place on Friday 29th June, 7.00pm for 7.30pm, at Frome Town Football Club. Entry forms for all the Carnival royalty are available from June Barnes on 01373 461 625 or Ellenbray.
• Carnival Fun Day in the Park takes place in Victoria Park on Saturday 30th June from 2.00pm. Once again, plenty of fun and frivolities are planned and this year majorette demonstrations, music from the band, and a baby show will all be part of the fun. New this year is a skittles competition, which starts at 3.30pm. Teams of 4 can enter for £10, entry forms are available from Ellenbray or Badcox news. There are cups and cash prizes.
