The Frome Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year with a major line up of internationally famous performers headlining acts.
Top of the comedy billing is Reginald D Hunter, the American-born comedian making his second appearance at the Festival. He will play at the Memorial Theatre on Saturday 4th July. Reginald has appeared on TV and radio, notably on BBC’s “Live at the Apollo” and “Have I Got News for You”. He recently hosted a documentary series on music in his homeland of the Deep South.
On Saturday 11th July quirky comedian Paul Foot, also a regular on TV, will appear at the Merlin Theatre, while cult singer and comedian Mitch Benn will play at the Masonic Hall on July 6th. Humorous poet John Hegley will also be appearing at the Masonic Hall on Thursday 9th July.
Major music acts are also set to appear at the festival including Andy Fairweather Low, the much-loved singer and guitarist who fronted Amen Corner in the 60s and achieved a massive hit with “If Paradise is Half as Nice”. Andy also featured in the classic “Concert for George” tribute to George Harrison alongside Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Other very big names in the music world are set to be announced by the end of March.
2020 will see the Frome Festival celebrate 20 years in Frome, with over 200 events including headlining bands and comedians, drama, literary events, classical concerts, exhibitions, walks, talks and workshops.
