Local charity Fair Frome is seeking two new trustees to join the existing team.
Fair Frome has been in action for two years and has become an active part of Frome’s voluntary network.
As well as running the local food bank, community dining events, a weekly Fair Food event at the Bridge Cafe and washing and kitchen equipment projects, the charity also raises debates about inequality and the impact on Frome’s citizens.
Over the next year the charity is also planning a furniture bank providing donated furniture free or at very low cost to individuals and families. The scheme will also incorporate a repair and restore element to recycle furniture.
Fair Frome Trustees don’t just attend meetings they are part of an active volunteer force of around 40 without whom Fair Frome couldn’t exist. As such new Trustees will be expected to become involved in the planning and delivery of projects.
Bob Ashford, chair of trustees said, “Like most local charities we are ideas rich and cash poor. We are therefore ideally looking for two new trustees who have experience of either fundraising or campaigning to help us maintain our existing projects and grow new ones. We are particularly interested in people who have experienced hardship and have insights which will help inform our future work.
“If you have any of these skills and want to join a vibrant force in town please consider joining us.”
Anyone interested can email info@fairfrome.org with your brief details by the 19th June. If you would like to talk to Bob about the role, please also include your telephone number.
