As in previous years, the pretty, unspoilt village of Hemington welcomes visitors to wander around the village at its open weekend on 4th and 5th July, 2.00-5.30pm.
The road through the village will be closed making it safe for those with young children.
The now famous flower festival with its fun quiz will be in its usual location in the beautiful Grade 1 listed church. There are gardens to explore including the amazing bird garden where children can feed the birds. There will be plants to buy and a jive dance workshop in the village school.
There will be lots of other stalls with handicrafts, gifts, antique china as well as tombola and splat the rat, providing entertainment for all age groups. On Saturday there’s also the clay pigeon shoot.
The highlight for some might be the delicious teas with homemade cakes, scones and jam. Freshly picked strawberries with local organic clotted cream will also be available.
Parking is only £2 per car. Hemington is near Faulkland, (BA3 5XX).
