Admin apprentice at Frome Community Hospital, Kate Watson, is the well-deserved winner of the Somerset Partnership and Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust’s ‘Nominate your Apprentice’ competition.
Cath Hiron, PA to the hospital’s matron said, “Kate has been amazing from day one. She has progressed so well since starting in October 2018 and was quickly working the same as the other members of the team, and working independently by month two, covering a busy minor injuries unit on long shifts, as well as our busy main reception area.
“Kate has been a welcome member to the team and so enthusiastic. She manages her apprenticeship studies brilliantly and we meet up regularly so I can support her.
“She is just about to take on the patient advice champion role to add to her portfolio and she is flexible, compassionate and a real joy to have around. I can’t believe how well she has adapted to an NHS environment, having no previous experience – she does not panic in stressful situations and manages her workload well. Her care and compassion for our patients and service she delivers is outstanding!”
