Two months on from the re-opening of the Westway Cinema, the traditional, independent cinema is receiving nothing but praise from local people.
Movie-lovers have been queuing out of the door to get their tickets to see blockbuster films at the Westway Cinema which re-opened in February after extensive refurbishment, and for just £4 a ticket, many are returning three times a week.
Owner Beryl Scott said, “Well, it’s been great! We’ve been full almost every day which is fantastic and everyone has been saying how pleased they are that the Westway is back open.
“The feedback we’ve been getting is so nice; they’ve said the atmosphere is very friendly and the staff are welcoming and helpful. They particularly enjoy that they are shown to their seats and the ice cream tray that goes round.
“It’s great to be able to bring the cinema back to Frome and because it’s affordable, people can come more often; it doesn’t need to be a treat. £4 for a ticket rather than £10 means movie lovers can come two or three times a week. And the low price doesn’t mean the film choice is limited. We’ve got all the latest films and genres that appeal to the whole family.
“We’re very grateful for all the support we’ve had from the local community and we’re so pleased to bring the cinema back to the town.”
