What business are you involved with? World Basket which buys and sells textiles and rugs from around the world.
Why did you choose Frome? I have lived in or close to Frome since 1975 and in this area it is definitely the best town to base the business.
Favourite thing about Frome? The architecture of the town is wonderful, period buildings in soft golden stone!
Little known fact about your business: We have been going to the East for over 30 years and have built up many relationships with local people. Generally we take February off and go to India to meet up with these trusted merchants, from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bengal and Mumbai who have been buying textiles from all around their region, for us, they source these increasingly rare textiles from local markets, fairs, private sellers and collectors. We also commission contemporary items to sell in the shop.
