Recently Humans of Frome put out a public call to anyone who would like to get involved in their ongoing project which focuses on getting to know more about the people of our town.
Ciara reports, “So many wonderful humans (and their dogs in many cases) showed up to have their moment on our increasingly famous red chesterfield sofa.
“It was such a fun occasion that we even had an impromptu music session from the fantastic ‘Back of the bus,’ a lively Frome bunch who regaled us with 80’s classics in a very unique style.
“Since then, Humans of Frome is proud to have become the host of ‘The Saturday Sofa Sessions’ (which happen most Saturday lunchtimes) – a wonderful community event open to all players to come and show off their stuff on Catherine Hill. Think NPR Tiny Desk meets Open Mic. So far the sessions have been a huge success with the likes of ‘The HooDoos’ and ‘Crossing The Rockies’ following in the footsteps of ‘Back Of The Bus’ and all pulling appreciative crowds. I can say that over the coming weeks we will see an array of brilliant local talent from washboard bands to belly dancers, so please do pop along….it’s lots of fun.
“If you are interested in being featured as a Human of Frome or would like to play one of our Saturday Sofa Sessions, please get in touch via the Humans of Frome facebook page or contact me Ciara at ciara.poot@yahoo.com. The more the merrier!”
