LOCAL motorcyclists are invited to set off from Beckington this weekend to join a big ride through Bristol to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.
On Saturday 3rd December, ‘Santa’s on a Bike’ will be holding a charity motorbike ride to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
A group will depart from Little Chef in Beckington at 9.20am to meet a larger group in Bristol.
Organiser Oli Allen said, “We are expecting around 500 motorbikes, all decorated with tinsel and Christmas lights and will ride together into Bristol and on to the hospice at Charlton Farm.
“Riders from around Frome will meet with others from Bridgwater, Weston-Super-Mare, Bath, Cinderford and Gloucester at Dick Lovett BMW Motorrad at Cribbs Causeway for refreshments before riding through the city centre and on to the hospice where we will deliver presents to the children and their families who are staying.
“All riders of motorbikes, scooters, quad bikes and trikes are welcome and there is no charge to attend, but all donations are welcomed. In previous years we have raised around £6,000 for the hospice.
“This is the first year I have taken over as event organiser, and we’re hoping to make this the biggest and best year yet.”
