INDEPENDENTS for Frome will continue to have full control of the town council after success in this month’s by-election.
Earlier this month, Mark Dorrington for the Independents for Frome was elected to represent the Market Ward. “I’m really excited and very grateful that I got a convincing majority,” he said. “I will now work hard to make sure that I repay everyone’s faith in me.
“During the campaign, what I was hearing from the public is that are particularly concerned with litter, parking and dog poo, so I hope to help work on these matters.
“Also, with Saxonvale in my ward, I look forward to having an input into the plans for the site and helping to move that forward.”
Results of the Market Ward by-election: Neil Burns (Labour Party) 125; Mark Dorrington (Independents For Frome) 325 (elected); Drew Gardner (Liberal Democrats) 75; Elizabeth John (The Conservative Party Candidate) 89.
