AS part of her role with the charity, Speakers for Schools journalist, broadcaster and author, Mariella Frostrup, visited Frome College recently.
A school spokesperson said, “Founded in 2010 by ITV’s political editor Robert Peston, Speakers for Schools aims to end educational inequality by giving all young people access to the same prestigious networks available to the top fee-paying schools in the UK. Through talks from today’s influential figures via their inspiration programme, they endeavour to help level the playing field for young people of all backgrounds.
“Mariella spoke to an audience of 250 year 10 and post-16 students, giving an insightful, and at times, humorous, talk on her life and career, passing on her wisdom, dispelling the myths of social media and encouraging our young people to work tirelessly towards their goals.
“The students thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mariella and were keen to discuss her time working with Live Aid, and her views on gender inequality. Mariella has agreed to return to Frome College in the future, to further help support and guide the young people.”
