Simon King, the well-known wildlife expert and TV presenter, was in Frome on Saturday 5th December to promote his book, ‘Wild Life’.
Simon spent the morning at Hunting Raven Books in Cheap Street, where he signed copies of the book for customers. “It’s gone very well,” he said. “It’s been really busy, and it’s lovely to see so many people. I’m a regular customer, but I’ve not been here in this capacity before!” Simon also signed copies of his 2010 calendar.
Shop owners John and Caroline Birkett-Smith were delighted to welcome him to their book shop. “We’ve sold all of our copies,” said John. “It’s been a very successful morning, and we’ve even had to work on our crowd control measures!”
“We didn’t know what to expect, but it’s been fantastic,” added Caroline.
Simon is perhaps best known as a presenter on Autumnwatch and Springwatch. He has also produced more than 80 natural history films, and as a cameraman his credits include ‘Wild Africa’, ‘Life in the Freezer’ and ‘The Blue Planet’. ‘Wild Life’ draws on the rich and varied experiences of his career.
