The Griffin pub in Frome is celebrating their first publication, a cookbook with the recipes donated by locals at the pub.
The book was created with the help of Andy Morten who designed the layout and graphics, Henry Hutton and Butler, Tanner and Dennis who very kindly printed the book completely free. The cookbook was created with the help of regulars at the pub who donated their favourite recipes using local produce including Milk Street Brewery beers.
The book includes creations such as Paola’s beer and banana cake, Malcolm’s chilli jam and Chemical Steve’s biryani. All the proceeds from the book will go to Nica-raguan charity Women In Action. This community organisation aims to improve the standard of living through sustainable community development in an impoverished part of Nicaragua. The Griffin’s bar manager, Charlie, has worked with this charity for seven years and it is a cause close to her heart.
She said, “The contribution from locals at the pub and those who have given their time for free to a great cause has been fantastic.”
The book is available from all good Frome stores including The Little Red Café on Catherine Hill, The Cheese and Grain, Williams the Butcher at Badcox and of course The Griffin, Milk Street. Copies are just £3 each.
