Frome Amateur Operatic Society’s family pantomime ‘Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs’ has now come to a close, with hundreds turning out to join in with the high jinks and fun.
Following a sellout performance of ‘The Full Monty’, the local group’s festive offering, which ran from 29th December to 2nd January, also had strong ticket sales.
Bob Stannard, president of FAOS said, “I understand that 97% of the tickets sold which is very good indeed, even when compared with previous years.
“Pantomimes are the main source of income for the group because some of the main shows don’t do quite as well and the pantos always balance it out.
“People came from all over to watch it. We do now have a very good reputation and I think a lot of people prefer to see a panto on their doorstep than travel to Bath or Bristol. Most people I have spoken to said they thought the panto was excellent.”
There will be a DVD playback of the show on the evening of Wednesday 27th January commencing at 7.00pm in the Frome Assembly Rooms. A DVD will be available to purchase on the night.
The FAOS 2010/11 pantomime will be ‘Jack and The Beanstalk’.
