Fairtrade Frome hosted a special tea party with MP David Heath and Mayor Damon Hooton – one of many activities in the town to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.
The politicians met for a cuppa at the Westway precinct in Frome’s town centre, where local people had the chance to join them for a chat.
The tea party was one of many quirky events taking place in Frome to highlight Fairtrade Fortnight. Behind the events were organisers from Fairtrade Frome.
Children also got involved in the Fairtrade fun. Pupils at Holy Trinity School and also young children at Springmead Nursery in Beckington held their own Mad Hatter’s tea party, with everything Fairtrade of course.
Last Friday, Frome Community College hosted its own tea party. Students in the food technology department listened to a talk by Fairtrade Frome members Judy Annan and Dinah Bardgett, before baking with Fairtrade ingredients. Budding cooks Lauren Carter and Elysha Barritt were winners in their class with their coffee cake and brownies.
