Frome Festival box office opened for business at the weekend and organisers of the festival faced a rush to buy tickets.
Information has already been widely circulated about some of the top names appearing at the festival this year including Paul Merton, Reginald D Hunter, and Seth Lakeman.
The festival brochure, with its distinctive cover design by Sholto Walker, is twice the size of previous brochures thanks to the generosity of Butler, Tanner and Dennis, Frome’s internationally renowned printing company, who is sponsoring the production of the magazine-style publication.
The free brochure is being distributed by an army of volunteers to pick up points over a 30 mile radius, and by post to addresses all over the UK. Local copies can be obtained from the Cheese and Grain Hall, Frome Library, and the Tourist Information Centre as well as many retail outlets, bars and cafes. The full festival programme is also available on line at www.fromefestival.com. Listings of over 200 performances, exhibitions, talks and workshops, is also being posted up in Frome town centre venues. The festival takes place between the 9th and 18th of July.
Tickets are expected to sell out fast for some of the most popular events such as the famous Frome Tunnels walks and festival goers are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. As well as the booking office at the Cheese & Grain in Frome, telephone bookings can also be made on 01373 455420.
