Frome-based David Partner is an internationally acclaimed photographer with an iconic brand of portraiture. His talents are widely recognised, whether by the National Portrait Gallery, the Financial Times, the BBC or by the many global and national institutions for which he has worked in his career.
Recent achievements have included ‘Working for Parliament’, a photographic record of 100 members of the staff of the House of Commons, 100 years after the last document by Sir Benjamin Stone MP, and a collaboration with Frome printers Butler, Tanner & Dennis, one of the few colour book printing company’s left in the UK.
For Frome’s 10th Festival, David turns his lens on his native Frome, its quirky streets and idiosyncratic personalities. Taken over the last ten years, these images shine with a genuine affection, and David’s characteristic style, praised for its honesty and for the unvarnished humanity that lies at its heart.
Most recently working in the Lebanon, documenting the re-construction of Beirut, David’s global view provides him with a unique, and affectionate perspective on an equally unique small town.
A photography exhibition of David’s work is now showing at Rook Lane Chapel until Saturday, 24th July, 10.00am – 4.00pm.
