Frome Town Council is working on a plan to give Frome a spectacular Christmas tree this year.
North Parade Gardens on North Hill has been chosen as the best spot where it can shine like a beacon high on the hill.
In the past the Market Yard and the Market Cross have been the home of the tree. It was felt this year, however, that North Parade would be the best place and allow for a much larger tree than in previous years.
Cllr Helen White, mayor of Frome, said, “We need to make sure Somerset County Council are in agreement with our plan but otherwise I’m looking forward the seeing the biggest Christmas tree Frome has ever seen in one of the most prominent places in the town. The Market Cross is simply too dangerous a site for a large Christmas tree and I believe the garden on North Parade will prove a great site.”
