A FROME woman recently featured with her treasures on the BBC programme ‘Flog It!’
Val Carpenter took a pair of Dennis China vases to the ‘Flog It!’ team when experts filmed a session at the Assembly Rooms in Warminster.
Val said, “I am a fan of the show and I do like anything to do with antiques. I went along with a friend for a laugh and happened to get picked!”
Experts estimated the value of the vases at £120-£180. At auction, the reserve was set at £120 before selling for £140. Val said she was pleased with the sale, but felt the drama of the auction. “It was a bit like pulling teeth!” Val commented.
Aside from the auction, Val said she enjoyed the experience of the valuation day. “I was watching what other people have valued – it’s surprising what other people have in their car boots!” she said.
