During October 2010 Frome Rotarians along with local school children planted almost 20,000 purple crocus bulbs within Frome.
These were planted to remind us that polio has still not been eradicated throughout the world and on Saturday 19th February Frome Rotarians were shaking buckets to collect for the Polio Plus Charity. A grand total of £490.72p was raised and the Rotary Club of Frome would like to thank everyone who donated money to this worthwhile cause.
For every pound collected Bill Gates of Microsoft will donate an equivalent amount of money.
“The crocus have now started to push through and what a splendid sight they are,” said Frome Rotarian Dorothy Cretney. “Look along the riverbank between the Canoe Club and Welshmill or at the top of North Parade where you will see a superb display of purple crocus.
