Positive Action on Cancer is basing their Children in Need-funded young persons’ counselling service at Frome College.
Counsellor Dulcie Muir will work at the college one day a week offering free, professional counselling to any student who has been affected by cancer or life threatening illness.
Dulcie said, “I know how profoundly young people are affected by cancer and serious illness. It can turn life upside down, whether it’s a family member who is ill or they are ill themselves.
“As Frome’s local charity we want to make sure that our service is accessible to all the young people of Frome. Making counselling available at the college will help us to reach as many young people as possible.”
Frome College vice principal Trisha Leigh added, “We take the welfare of our students very seriously and we are delighted that PAC has chosen to base their service here.”
