A race night organised by the Frome Friends of Dorothy House raised £1,335.17 for the Winsley-based hospice
The event was held at Orchardleigh Golf Club on 29th August, as a tribute to Mike Binney, a founder member of the friends’ group and a Dorothy House patient, who died earlier this year.
Mike’s widow, Margaret said, “Mike gained much pleasure from a flutter on the horses; in fact, he often used his knowledge of a winning horse to fundraise for Dorothy House. The race night was a great success and a fitting tribute to a man who fought cancer courageously to the end.”
