Next up at Frome Jazz Club is the lyrical, thoughtful, ECM-influenced sax playing of Nick Sorensen, with the John Law Trio, on Sunday 28th May, 7pm-9.30pm, entry free at The Cornerhouse.
Organisers Keith and John say, “Please note that this gig will be at the Cornerhouse (rather than the Griffin as originally advertised). We’re sorry to leave the Griffin, and thanks again to everyone there for the friendly hosting, but are looking to making the Cornerhouse into the new home of Frome Jazz.
“From now on, there will be live jazz every Sunday at the Cornerhouse, with entry always free.
“On the first Sunday, the long-running jazz jam and on the third Sunday, local pianist Graham Dent with his trio and guests, both events running from 4-7pm
“On the second, fourth, and (when it exists) the fifth Sunday Frome Jazz Club, featuring professional players from near and far, always running from 7-9.30pm, (except during Frome Festival on 9 July, when we start at noon to avoid clashing).
“See you next Sunday, 28th May at 7pm, we hope. Keep it live and keep it real!”
Other events coming up are:- Sunday 11th June; Funk From The Far North, with Kevin Figes. Acoustic grooves from Scandinavia. Kevin Figes (sax), Keith Harrison-Broninski (p), Pete Maxfield (b), Jim White (d).
