BBC radio DJ Jo Whiley will be bringing her 90s Anthems show to the Cheese and Grain next month.
She will be bringing you all the best tracks from the ‘greatest decade for music’, think Blur vs Oasis, Fatboy Slim, Primal Scream, The Verve, The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, The Prodigy and a whole lot more.
Jo is part of an exciting line-up over the next month at the Cheese and Grain which is back open for live events.

• THE SOUTH + support Phil Cooper. Saturday 21st August. Doors 8pm.
Celebrating the Beautiful South legacy and great songs of their own, the band (fronted by Alison Wheeler) continues performing the classic songs including: A Little Time – the number one single, Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes, Good as Gold, Don’t Marry Her. All performed again live, these songs span an impressive 20 year career starting way back in 1989!
• BAD MANNERS + support Rat Race. Friday 27th August. Doors 8pm
Formed in 1976, and still going strong and now into their fourth decade of creating Mod Mayhem, this legendary British Ska band are still packing venues out all over the world. The band are still fronted by the man himself Buster Bloodvessel and always deliver a powerful energetic show leaving the audience exhausted but thoroughly content.
• THE HAMMERVILLES . Bank Holiday Beach Party, Sunday 29th August. Doors 6pm
Famed for their energetic rock/pop floor fillers, party covers band The Hammervilles are throwing a massive summer party as a fundraiser for the venue.

• The Wildhearts, Monday 6th Sept., 7.30pm. For 3 decades The Wildhearts have remained at the forefront of the British rock scene.
From their classic debut album ‘Earth Vs’ (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! back in 1993, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! Special in 2006), through to now with the release of ‘Renaissance Men’, their first full-length studio album in 10 years, their creative output and legendary live shows have been second to none. The Wildhearts and their incendiary shows have cemented their reputation and legacy as one of the best bands the UK has ever produced.
• Beth Orton, Thursday 9th Sept., 7.30pm. Brit Award winning songstress Beth Orton returns to The Cheese and Grain for a special one off all seated solo acoustic gig.
“Beth’s previous sold-out performance at the venue remains one of our all-time favourite events and we are delighted to be able to welcome her back as part of our re-opening celebrations,” says the venue.
Beth Orton is one of the most original voices in music, a trailblazer who has paved the way for many. Her debut LP Trailer Park pioneered a synthesis of electronic and acoustic songs to huge acclaim, including two Brit Award and Mercury Award nominations. The follow-up Central Reservation brought international success and the Brit Award for Best British female. Further albums like the beloved Jim O’Rourke produced Comfort of Strangers and 2012’s Sugaring Season which Pitchfork hailed as “one of the finest moments of her career”, deepened the breadth of her craft, and most recently Orton’s sixth album Kidsticks was hailed as a radical reinvention. Beth is currently in the studio working on a new album
