TO celebrate 40 years since the one-hit wonder single ‘Jilted John’ reached number 4 in the charts, Jilted John and his band will be coming to Frome next month as part of an anniversary tour.
The unforgettable hit single with its chant ‘Gordon is a moron!’, defined the summer of 1978 for many people and sold half a million copies.
As well as his big hit, Jilted John – created and played by Graham Fellows – will perform tracks from the iconic LP ‘True Love Stories’, including ‘Going Steady’, ‘The Birthday Kiss’, ‘Baz’s Party’ and many more during an enthralling hour-long set.
Talking to music journalist, Martin Hutchinson, about what audience members can expect, Graham said, “Well, I think we’ll do about half the album and other songs like Mrs Pickering and Keira Knightly, Eat Your Dinner!
“I’m also delighted to have John Otway as a special guest on the tour – it’ll be fun, but I think after that, it’ll be the end of Jilted John.”
Jilted John and his band will be appearing at the Cheese & Grain, on Thursday 11th October.
