Frome Junior Netball Charity Tournament and Fun Day, in aid of We Hear You, has been deemed a huge success. raising a grand total of £1,076.48.
Organisers said, “The event took months of planning and organising. We had teams competing from Frome Junior Netball Club, Oakfield Academy, Selwood Academy, Wessex Juniors from Warminster and Purnells from Midsomer Norton; fighting it out in the U12s, U14s and U16s age categories. The girls had to work hard across the day in scorching heat to win.
“In the U12s, Wessex Thunder came out on top; Minquins (Purnells) squeezed past Frome Wildcats in their final U14 match to win the U14s trophy; whilst Wessex Storm, stormed through the day unbeaten to win the U16s age group.
“There was a fantastic display of quality netball, whilst the family enjoyed a fun day on the fabulous array of bouncy castles, face painting and glitter tattoos provided by You and Your Event Hire. Also, everyone enjoyed the sizzling barbecue, which was organised by the junior netball committee and all food was kindly donated or discounted by Asda, Sainsbury’s and Penleigh Farm shop. Due to the scorching heat throughout the day, everyone was delighted to tuck into scrummy ice creams provided by Garbanzos Ice Creams.
“The day ended with a grand raffle, with everyone eager to win the 1st prize – a day pass for 4 people which was kindly donated by Center Parcs.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank so many local companies that either donated raffle prizes or supported our event which helped us to raise this vast amount of money for our club and We Hear You.
