THE Frome Running Club Junior section is offering training to young people aged eight to 18.
The club says, “Spring is just around the corner and the weather is getting warmer. It’s a great time to get involved in outdoor activities.
“The junior sessions focus on running events, with the goal of improving overall fitness through activities that involve strength, coordination, speed and endurance. Runners will be exposed to sprinting, hurdling, middle distance and cross country running. The training is open to young athletes of all abilities including those new to running and runners with more experience.
“The sessions are organised by an EA-certified events coach who has over 20 years of youth coaching experience in the United States and is also an age-group competitive runner on the roads and trails around Somerset. Training sessions are held on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with breaks following the school calendar.”
