FROME’S Memorial Theatre has sent an update to let everyone know what is happening during Lockdown 3.
Chairman of FMTT, Humphrey Barnes says, “Our voluntary-run community theatre is still very much alive, with many of our volunteers devoting much of their time making sure the theatre is safe and Covid-19 compliant, so that we are ready and up and running when our doors are open once again to you our patrons.
“Our theatre was built between the years 1919/1925, therefore a building of that age has on-going maintenance to be continually carried out, even when we are closed. It is obviously difficult for our own in-house maintenance team to work as normal at this time, but by taking the utmost caution, certain work can and has been carried out.
“However our main focus of concern has been the postponement or cancellation of shows. This is causing a considerable amount of additional work for our promotion manager, Dawn, not only to reschedule shows with agents, but also to contact you, our patrons, advising you of re-arranged dates.
“The trustees are confident that as and when we can open our theatre again we will have, as ever, an outstanding programme that will appeal to our wide audience base. We all at the theatre wish you well, take the upmost care, we have missed you and cannot wait to welcome you back to our theatre.
“If you have any queries on tickets for forthcoming shows you may hold or any other enquiries, please contact our box office on 01373 462795 or visit our website on www.fmtwebsite.”
