The Southern League has announced that the 20/21 season is due to commence on Saturday 19th September, say Frome Town FC.
“The league fixtures will be announced on Friday 28th August at 1pm.
“We have also had further confirmation that there will be no league cup competition this season.
“The club and the league will be working towards the 19th as a return date.”
However, Frome Town FC is one of many non-league clubs who are backing the #LetFansIn campaign, which is calling on the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) to allow spectators at football matches. The club says it won’t be able to host matches without the income from spectators.
The club says, “We remain clear that the club can not return without fans present alongside a number of other clubs in the league. Please show your support and share the message of #LetFansIn.”
