FROME Lions Club presented Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance with a cheque for £11,000, which was raised during their annual sporting dinner in January.
Frome Lions Club travelled to Henstridge Airfield, where the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is based, to present their cheque.
The money was raised at their annual sporting dinner which was held in the orangery at Orchardleigh House in January and which had as its guest speaker the 1985 world snooker champion, Dennis Taylor.
Mike Geake, of Lions Club of Frome said, “The Lions are extremely grateful to all of the people who supported the event by either attending on the night or for donating items for the auction, which helped us raise this fantastic sum of money for a very worthwhile and much-needed charity.”
