THE Lions Club of Frome will be erecting a Tree of Remembrance in front of Rook Lane Chapel on Monday 28th November at 6.30pm.
A short carol service and the blessing of the tree will take place at chapel on the night to which all are invited.
Members of the public are invited to make a donation to the Lions charity fund in memory of a loved one or special cause. Each light on the tree will remember a loved one or particular cause dear to their hearts at this special time of year. Each donor will also receive a personal acknowledgement and the names and causes will be displayed on a dedication board at Rook Lane until early January.
A Lions spokesperson said, “This year all donations received will be used by the Lions to support Dorothy House Hospice to care and support those, and their families, suffering terminal illness in their care whether at the hospice or staying in their own homes.
“Following the blessing, we invite you to partake in some light refreshments and mulled wine in front of the tree, which will give you a chance to meet with friends and talk to the Lions about their activities and charitable work.
“The Lions club of Frome are indebted to NVB Architects for allowing the tree to be erected at Rook Lane chapel and to the Mendip Christmas Tree Farm at Dean who have generously donated the tree.”
